🧑🔬 Scientists Link Climate Change to Rio Grande do Sul Floods in Historic Breakthrough
For the first time ever, scientists have directly connected climate change to the severity of the recent devastating floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This landmark discovery highlights how human-caused warming is making extreme weather events more frequent and intense.
The floods, which brought three months’ worth of rain in just two weeks, have caused widespread damage to infrastructure and agriculture, with an estimated financial toll of over $30 billion. This breakthrough emphasizes the need for increased investment in climate resilience and proactive measures to protect our communities from future risks.
There is enormous potential for positive change within our global food chain as a result of studies such as these. We at Marvin are inspired by our partnerships with market leaders dedicated to accelerating the transition towards a sustainable land sector.
A meaningful product milestone was reached by Marvin last month when we partnered with a multinational food and beverage corporation to provide global freedom to operate under different market regulatory restrictions (EUDR, ISCC EU, GHG Land use change) as well as forecasting climatic conditions to develop a predictable, resilient supply chain.

- 🇺🇸 White House Champions Voluntary Carbon Markets with Bold New Standards -The current U.S administration has signaled that it is stepping up its game with a new fact sheet that’s set to turbocharge voluntary carbon markets! 🌱📈 These clear guidelines could supercharge the growth and necessity of these markets as we aim for net-zero emissions by 2050. With principles like additionality and permanence, they ensure robust carbon markets ready to offset emissions, especially as the SEC and other regulators focus on carbon disclosure. 🌐📊❤️ Get ready for a greener future powered (in part) by credible carbon markets!
- 🇲🇽 Mexico Embraces Climate Leadership with New President-Elect - Mexico’s new president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, is breaking new ground as one of the first climate scientists to lead a nation. As a Nobel-winning IPCC member and energy expert, her election is historic and thrilling! This could mean a wave of powerful climate policies and a greener future for Mexico and beyond. 🌍🌟
- 🛢️Vermont becomes first U.S. state to sue oil companies for environmental damage - Vermont lawmakers created the first U.S. state "Climate Superfund," allowing it to sue major fossil fuel companies for climate damages dating back to 1995. This pioneering policy, modeled after the federal CERCLA Superfund program, aims to hold companies like ExxonMobil and Shell accountable and fund climate recovery efforts. The move signals potential upcoming legislation in other states and at the federal level.
